Early atmospheric layers establish tone and movement. Symbolic elements are emerging through controlled abstraction, allowing the narrative to develop through restraint rather than definition.
Threshold explores the moment between collapse and emergence. Set against the ruins of Pompeii, the bull advances forward through smoke, fractured architecture, and fading remnants of empire — a symbol of resilience, power, and survival after destruction. Ancient inscriptions, including references to SPQR and Latin phrases drawn from Roman history, reinforce the tension between authority, legacy, and human vulnerability.
The work blends contemporary symbolism with classical influence, using layered textures, weathered surfaces, and dramatic light to create a cinematic atmosphere suspended between past and present. The bull does not retreat from the ruins behind him; he emerges from them — carrying the weight of history while confronting the uncertainty of what comes next.
